Weekly Nature Prompts Week of July 1st

Children learn so much with conversations and ideas. I hardly ever lecture my little students or anyone for that matter. I believe all us learn through simple conversation. With my older students I ask questions all the time, "Why do you think birds migrate? Scientists still can't figure it out...". And we talk and come up with theories. These questions prompt further research during the week. Self education that just began with a question. I started this when my children were very young and continue with my little learners.
This week I am asking these questions to my Kindergartner:
Why do birds sing and call?
What are the benefits of birds?
What are the characteristics of birds?
I do not expect my children to know these answers but I do want them to think about them. We are using this website for further investigation: All About Birds
Bird guides we love and use over and over again:
Charlotte Mason Kindergarten will post a weekly prompt. This is just a guide and a way to give you ideas.
Enjoy your week, mommas!
