Planned Nature Walks
When I started planning "The Enchanted Kindergarten" I began by researched Charlotte Mason's philosophies. I KNEW we would not have a formal "Kindergarten" but as we are habit training, I wanted to introduce a routine of living books, etiquette, cooking together, handicrafts, and gentle religious instruction. I have been homeschool ten years, the habit of routine will become a useful tool and bring structure to your day.
Charlotte Mason's "List of attainments for a child of 6" is the basis of this guide. I couldn't find a single guide for each one.
As a homeschool mom, you will slowly build a library of living books. The booklist contains many award-winning classics that you can use over and over again. These are non-twaddle pieces of literature that introduce your children to new vocabulary and new ideas. I am SO proud of our literature list. I am hearing from moms all across the world. They LOVE their books! You don't have to get them all at once. Slowly build your living book library.
NOTE: You need the books in the booklist to go along with "The Enchanted Kindergarten" guide
Main literature text:
Beatrix Potter-The Complete Tales
The Complete Tales of Winnie the Pooh
Christian Liberty Reader-A Living Science read aloud
I am a firm believer in teaching Charlotte Mason students Latin. The attainments include the learning of French but we have chosen Latin as the language study for the Enchanted Kindergarten. Charlotte Mason students are students of Science. The foundation in Latin will serve them in future medical/science careers.
The Enchanted Kindergarten includes 30 Latin flashcards to learn this year. All words are simple. Learn a new Latin word every single week.
